Over the years prices for hotel rooms in Tamarindo have increased, we pride ourselves on offering one of the best rates for a room in Tamarindo so that you can enjoy the beauty of the beach without spending a fortune. We are located just 50 meters from the beach near the center of the town and have 18 rooms with parking. We have several different types of rooms which are all well priced and include private bathrooms with TV's, celling fans or Air Conditioning. We have a shared kitchen and BBQ area for our guests as well as several hammocks and sofa's for you to relax after a day at the beach or surfing.

Learn to Surf in Paradise
Tamarindo has become a popular surfing destination due to its warm water, consisent swells, off shore winds and sandy bottom which together create the perfect conditions for learning to surf. Our main instructor Johan has been teaching surfing for many years and is experienced in working with all abilities, groups and families. We offer our surf lessons on either a lesson by lesson via our surf shop or as part of our learning to surf camps which include lessons, board rental and accommodation. We main teach surfing in Tamarindo but we can also arrange to give lessons at other beaches such as Playa Grande or Avellanas.

Surf some of the best waves in Costa Rica
The Pacific North West Coast of Costa Rica has some truely great waves. We offer surf tours to several of the best breaks in the area including Playa Grande, Playa Avellanas, Playa Negra, Marbella as well as the world famous Witch's Rock surf break in the Santa Rosa national park. Our surf tours consist of small groups who are driven by our guide in our Toyota 4X4. We know the area and the surf conditions so we can make sure that we take you to the best place. We offer our surf tours either on a tour by tour basis from our surf shop or as part of our surf tour surf camps package where you will get your surf tours, board rental and accommodation. We offer trips to Witch's Rock by car during the dry season and by boat during the rainy season.

Scooters, Bikes, Surfboards, Boogie Boards, Rash Guards and much more
There is plenty to see an do in Tamarindo renting a bike or scooter is a good way to get around the town or to some of the local villages. We know travelling with a surf board is getting expensive these days so we have a good selection of both longboards, shortboards and even boogie boards. To save you getting burnt while you are surfing we can also rent you a rash guard to protect you from the sun and sand. Aswell as rentals our surf shop is also a tour office which offers a wide range of activities / tours as well as general travel information for Costa Rica. Our surf shop offers surf lessons, surf tours, turtle tours, kayaking and volcano tours. We can also arrange for transportation with the travel services or even taxis between the airports, San Jose or any other destination within Costa Rica.

Originally from the Osa Peninsula Johan has been surfing ever since he could walk and has been teaching surfing for the past ten years. Johan has been running the surf camp for the past 18 months and his job is to ensure that you have a great time in Costa Rica. Johan does everything at the surf camp from arrange your trip, teach you how to surf, take you on surf tours or arrange for you to rent a bike, scooter, surf board. Johan has all of the local knowledge you will need no matter what your travel budget is.

Welcome to Tsunami Surf
Tamarindo - Costa Rica
Cabinas Tsunami and Tsunami Surf are located close to the beach in the town of Tamarindo, Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Our aim is to provide good value hotel and hostel accommodation for those people on a budget or opposed to paying large sums of money to stay at one of the large resorts allowing you to experience the beach, surfing, nightlife and local tours without spending a fortune. Our hotel is 50 meters from the beach and has 18 rooms with different sizes and facilities depending on your budget.
Cabinas Tsunami has long been a popular hostel for world travellers and travelling surfers, with many of our guests either trying surfing for their first time or staying with us while they surf Tamarindo and some of the local beaches. In 2008 we started offering our own Surf Camps for all levels of surfer, from beginners where we teach you the basics of surfing to the advanced level where we take you out on a Surfari to some of the great breaks in the area.
Our tour office and surf shop provides rentals of Bikes, Scooters and Surfboards as well as providing individual surf lessons, surf tours or arranging non surf related tours such as kayaking, horse riding, turtle tours and trips to the volcano. We can also arrange for transportation within Costa Rica and provide you with quality travel information so that you can discover the best of Costa Rica.
